I'm thinking of starting a club for retired ladies who would like to meet up on a regular basis. The idea is to meet once a month for lunch at varying venues, and hopefully enjoy chatting and making new friends. If you'd like to join me, click here for further details.

Back to the "English Summer", it seems a long time since we were in America in temperatures of 94 deg F. However, we have a lot of happy memories. Our first week was spent touring Colorado, picking a hire car up at Denver Airport. We drove up 15000 ft of Mount Evans, into sunshine and snow; we visited Red Cliff Lodge nestled in between the mountains of the Arches National Park; drove round Arches National Park; wrecked our hire car when a deer decided to cross the highway and had to wait a few hours for a replacement; had a Jeep Safari in Monument Valley; saw the cave dwellings of the Pueblo Indians in Mesa Verde; a massive rain storm in Alamosa; visited the US Air Force Academy and Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs; Red Rocks Park Amphitheatre just outside Denver. Our second and third weeks were spent with our close friends who live outside St Louis Missouri. We flew to Branson which is the theatreland of the Mid West and saw a couple of shows, before driving back to the St Louis area with our friends. We had time to relax at their lakeside house, went out for a few meals, attended their grandson's graduation party, and did a lot of shopping. The time went too quickly, and we are sad that we may not see our friends again, as they are in their eighties. There are some photos of our first week's tour if you go to Photo Gallery - American Holiday. Hope you like them.
