Thursday 19 December we travelled up to my sister's for the Christmas celebrations. Friday 20 December, hubby and brother in law went to see "Black Sabbath" in Birmingham (not my cup of tea), while my sister and I went for a Toby Carvery. Saturday we were to meet up with my mother, but she didn't want to move out of her flat and on the evening four of us went out for another meal! Sunday we four met up with an old friend of mine for Sunday lunch at the local golf club and it was nice to catch up on things. Monday and Tuesday were "quiet days" with sensible eating. Wednesday seven of us sat down to Christmas Lunch, including my niece and her fiancé and my mother. Thursday 26th December we started for home, stopping off at the March Hare near Evesham to meet up with my brother in law and his wife. So in eight days we ate out for five of them! Didn't do much for my weight as I'd put 6 lbs back on!
A busy Christmas period this year! On 18 December hubby and I went to see "Steeleye Span" at St Georges Hall, Bristol. We have followed them for the past 40 years and it was a nice beginning to the Christmas period, except that we were like "drowned rats" because the rain didn't stop to pour, it fell out of the sky.

Four nights away on a Shearings Self-Drive to Babbacombe and the hotel was very nice and comfortable. Plenty of food, entertainment and friendly staff. While there we visited Torquay, Brixham (sitting outside a harbourside pub supping mulled wine with a mince pie), Widdicombe on Dartmoor (where we had a Devon cream tea), and on the way home NT property (Wellington Monument) with a mile-long approach with autumn leaves.
