Our friends' son married his long-term partner and celebrated his 50th birthday on the same day. We were invited to the evening reception and made the journey to Harlow which unfortunately took us 5.1/2 hours through an accident on the A10. A little time to catch our breath at our overnight motel, before meeting our friends and taking a taxi to the venue. Are we getting old? The resident DJ's music was indescribeable, and we preferred to sit outside than having burst eardrums. Fortunately the evening weather was mild and dry. We returned home today, stopping in Burford in the Cotswolds to stretch our legs and have a coffee.

A birthday lunch for Mom on Friday before bringing her down here for a few days. Saturday a quick trip into Ross on Wye which turned out to be hosting their May Festival, so parking was a bit of a problem. Sunday a trip down to Yate for Mom to see her great-grandson Nathan and lunch. Today a drive back to Burton on Trent with lunch on the way and trying to avoid the delays around the M5/M6 junction. Now time to put my feet up for a couple of hours.
Just returned from a long weekend away with our close friends in Lincolnshire. It's some nine months since we've seen them, and it was so nice to catch up on the news etc.
The weather was a bit mixed, but it didn't stop us from going out and about, including a couple of garden centres, a breezy Sutton-on-Sea, and several meals out. On the way home, we met up with family to take my mother out for a birthday lunch (86) and brought her back here for a few days, which will be busy, I have no doubt. Having never used a "blog" before, here goes! I've been used to computers for many years, and managed websites for various organisations, including currently Fen Fatales, a Chapter of the Red Hat Society, but never created a "blog" before. I hope you find it interesting and will come back regularly to see what's happening in my life.
I enjoy cardmaking, gardening and genealogy, so you might like to take a look at my recent efforts by clicking on the buttons to the left, or catch up on my blogs to the right. Have been in my "craft room" for a couple of hours, making a few cards. Have to be in the mood. Sometimes I can go days without touching a card accessory, sometimes I like to spend hours out there. Hope you like the latest efforts. |
